I took the kids to Drumlin Farm in Lexington with a library pass, so it was only a dollar or two for the day. A friend recommended it to me and it really was perfect for them. We just wandered around the working farm and looked at chickens and horses and sheep and cows. Anna loved weighing and sorting the pretend eggs. We went back twice. The kids also liked watching the sleeping piglets. They were both very quiet and for the rest of the day Anna would say, "Shhh Mama! The piggies are sleeping!"

Hi Heather! I'm in Boston at my daughter's house and we just went to Drumlin farm today! It was such a beautiful day and we had a great time. Lindsay was picking up vegetables for a friend who was out of town and who has a share in a CSA there. We got some beautiful vegetables and then went around the farm. Her kids loved sorting the eggs as well. And we got pictures on the fake horses and with the pigs. Such a fun place and wonderful to drive in the countryside!
Heather! It seems like you must be much farther away than just 17 miles... but then you go and say you've been in the same places we've been in, just the day or two before, and I realize that we're still practically neighbors. Hope Joy School's going well for you! Abby keeps asking when Anna is going to come...
