snuggles

This morning, I was sitting on the floor with my legs crossed. Anna looked at me for a moment and said, "I'm going to go get my blankie from my room," and then, pointing at my legs, "You keep that lap up so I can come back and snuggle."

Which is exactly what we did.

yum

When you make popsicles out of fruit and yogurt, you get to eat popsicles for breakfast...which is extremely awesome for the toddler set.

adorable boy

My sister in law, Anna, took these adorable pictures of Levi while we were in TX over Memorial Day weekend. We're so lucky we get to benefit from her talent.

And isn't Levi so handsome?!

a pirate party

Over Memorial Day we went to TX to have a Cosby family reunion and have a pre-wedding reception (preception?) for Jacob and Lauren (who are getting married in a week!). Anna and Levi were, of course, elated to be at Grandma's house. Before the other cousins arrived, Anna had a dress-up dance party with Grandma and filled Grandpa's bird feeder.

In case you didn't know, Anna's 3...

Levi, meanwhile, climbed the stairs and played at the water table.

Once the other cousins came, Grandma broke out the pirate costumes (which she MADE!) and led the grandkids on a treasure hunt that ended in candy and fruit snacks and nicknacks from SF Chinatown that they all adored.

Ruth throws awesome parties, and along with the super-fun grandkid pirate party (which included a hideout upstairs) she also threw a great old-fashioned ice cream social for Jacob and Lauren and I proceeded to eat all the Bluebell I could manage in 3 days. Oh how I miss that ice cream. Here's one of the cakes that we made and some shots from the party. (By the way, most of these pictures are courtesy of my sister-in-law, Anna)

Thanks for the fun trip Grandma and Grandpa! We'll see you next week!

elephants on parade

One afternoon, Anna and I were "playing playdoh" when I made the big purple elephant. Anna proclaimed it a Mommy elephant who needed a baby elephant (Levi) and a girl elephant (Anna) and a Daddy elephant. The daddy is standing on a barrel, the girl is kicking a ball and the mommy and baby are kissing trunks.
