blog stalkers

OK guys. I'm all about not having my blog be private. My average number of comments per post in the past year has plummeted significantly, (I get it... I moved...no one here even knows I have a blog) so I can't afford to go private and alienate those few people I know read and/or comment on my blog (I'm talking about you, Alisa, Laurie, and Marci!)

But seriously, I've had this tracker on my side bar for a while now which shows me where in the world my readers are coming from, and I just want to say, who on earth are you?

No. Really. Who are you?

It's cool if you are a friend of friend's cousin trolling around during your own kid's naptime. No worries. I've been there. But don't just hang around, never introducing yourself. You wouldn't do that in real life, and though this is no where near real life, it's still a little rude.

I have a little list of places that have popped up on the tracker that are unfamiliar to me. Meaning, I can't for the life of me think of anyone I know who lives there. Most likely, I'm about to embarrass myself by publishing on my public blog that I have forgotten, where you, my good friend, who I care about, lives. But I hope maybe a few of you other readers who I haven't met in real life could take a minute, and tell me a little about yourself. If nothing else, maybe my comment numbers will be up...

Goose Creek, SC
Invermere, British Columbia
Wiarton, Ontario
Jacksonville, FL
Killeen, Wylie, and Stafford, TX
De forest, WI
Norcross, GA
Emden, Niedersachsen
Neermoor Niedersachsen
Ihrhove, Niedersachsen

All kidding aside, I love knowing people actually read what I post here, so go ahead and tell me you read it. High school aqcuaintances, parents of friends, brief college buddies, old friends, and strangers alike are all welcome here. Just as long as I know your name :)

I still read your blog, I think you are a great and entertaing writer. Its nice to hear what you and sam are up to. As far as the random places, they are most likely spiders or crawlers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_crawler.

I subscribe to your feed, so I don't even know if that would show up on your sidebar.

Sorry for consuming your posts without ever giving back. This one was especially good. Deb and I had a good laugh over it.

We're very happy that things are going so well for you and Sam and the keiki. Aloha!

I'll claim Wylie. Thanks for letting me "people watch" my cousin's cute little family from afar!

I read,! But since I'm on your blog roll I'm pretty sure I'm not considered a stalker either. :) Sorry I'm a horrible commenter.

I am susan hatch...you used to live in my neck of the woods. i have you a wedding shower. really? you forgot me? I check in, not as often because you said you were getting off blogging cuz you were addicted. or some sort of line like that. if you go private, i'd better be included.

Sorry, I'm a stalker! Sam and I were int he same BYU ward before we both then moved to Devonshire and thus to your ward. So I dunno if you know or remember who I am, but I remember you, and Sam of course. So I like to just peek in and see what is going on with you guys. And I do read your blog!
p.s. I'm in Salt Lake.

I read your blog, but I am not from any of the interesting places listed above. I wish... London study abroad is the last time I've gone anywhere particularly different.

You can check the referring sites from the stats tab when you go into Blogger...I don't know if that will help you figure out who those people are.

Okay well I comment sometimes. I tried to set something like that up as well but haven't turned it on. Interesting. I think lots of people like to read random blogs. Sort of like reality TV... :)

Hooray, my name made it in your post :-)! I've never even heard of Niedersachsen. I wonder how they found you?! They probably just think you are amazing like the rest of us and keep coming back for more.

Sorry, I bloog stock you. I am not good at leaving comments. Just so you know the Toledo, OH will be changing to Grand Rapids, MI really soon. I hope you and your family are doing well!

Sam and Heather-

I am a follower. Your kids are so cute and I just love that I can keep up to date on my cousins lives. Too bad Draper, UT is not that foreign!

I think I am the Norcross GA one even though I live in another part of Atlanta. I am one of the Engstrom's daughters-in-law. I have heard a lot about the Stay family so I like to see what you guys are up to. Sorry to be rude. If it makes you feel better I don't even comment on my family's blogs. I am just too lazy.

Hey Heather!

I just installed Feedjit on my own blog-- you've got me curious/nervous, too. But yes, I check your blog and I'm glad I can! One day we really do need to let our Annas meet.

Good idea to check.

Heather you make me laugh! Love it!

Just for the record, your mom reads every post, usually on the day you post it. But I often call or send an email rather than comment becaue the comments are public.
But I agree with your sentiment: I have NO IDEA who is reading my blog either. You get TONS of comments compared to my blog.

I love that all these stalkers admitted they stalk. So funny, and now you know!

I'm an unapologetic blog stalker. I stalk all sorts of friends and acquaintances! You're on my google reader, so I'm not sure if I register as visiting your blog...

I put your blog on my google reader, so I don't know if I show up on the stats when I read it in Nigeria. I love reading about the fun things you do with little kids in Boston and I will occasionally pass a link on to my daughter who lives in Belmont when you post something that she might be interested in. But because I read most blogs on google reader, I don't comment very often. I do enjoy you blog and your children are adorable!

I also subscribe to your feed and read your blog. It's funny, but we only know each through Allison, but I guess I started reading your blog forever ago and just haven't stopped. You have such a cute family. Sorry for the lack of comments.

I must have found you through a craft blog somewhere... you're in my reader. (And I like the books in your header, which is why I stuck around.)
