I think I've made a breakthrough. I'm sitting in my bed at 9:23 in the morning with my PJs still on perusing the internet on the lap top, and I feel no guilt whatsoever. I canceled the substituting job I had scheduled and planted a roll of toilet paper and bottle of Powerade on the bookshelf next to the bed. I've succumbed to my sick-with-a-cold, aching-from-viral-infection-and-pregnancy body and intend to take a nap after having done nothing this morning aside from eating breakfast and reading a magazine (and all that internet perusal). And no guilt. I love it.

heather...I'm so sorry that you are not feeling well. I can recommend a good book if you need one! I hope you feel better soon!
Last time I got so sick that I could cancel everything with no guilt, I ended up watching "Aladdin" and eating soups while reading on the couch all day. It was bliss... pure bliss.
guilt is totally overrated...don't succumb to that stupid emotion.
Get used to doing what it takes to take care of YOU. It'll make it a lot easier to take care of the little one if you're healthy and well rested. Be ready to let unimportant things fall out of your life and streamline others so that you have time for the important stuff. Get well soon!
