For all of you moms out there who have successfully potty-trained your children, how did you go about night time potty training? Anna has shown zero interest so far, so we haven't pushed it, but I'm wondering if/when I'll need to. We've tried giving up water before bed, but she still woke up with soaking pull-ups, so I don't think that in itself will be enough.
What did you do, and how did it go for you?

My 2 cents:) We pushed to "train" Colby through the night... woke him up in the middle of the night, etc. But after getting frustred with him more than I care to admit, we learned and doctors advised that night training is really just developmental. It took Taylor until she was 7 to stop going in the night. My 5 year old has a full diaper every night still. They have medication you can give them to help but it is really just a bandaid to what will eventually happen on its own.
Growing up with a brother who had bed-wetting issues for years (my parents tried sensors on the bed, medicine, etc) I really felt like there wasn't anything he could do to help it. I'm sure he didn't WANT to we the bed. So, with Ella I didn't push it at all. She wore pull-ups at night for at least a full year after she was potty-trained during the day and eventually it just started less and less. Addie never had an issue and we'll see what happens with Preston. I don't know that there really is anything you can do other than eliminating liquids towards bedtime like you are already. That being said, I hope it doesn't last too long because I know it is NO fun. Good luck! I'll be curious to hear others' advice.
Thanks ladies! I really wanted the answer to be "just wait till she's ready." I'm glad it is!
After Livia was potty-trained for about a year I started night-time training, simply because she kept leaking out of her pull-up and I figured if I was changing sheets anyway I might as well try to train her! She must have been ready, because she caught on really quickly. You can buy some large, flat pads near where they sell Depends at Target, and so for my own sake I put one under her at night for the first few months. That way when she wet the bed I only had to change her pajamas and not all the linens in the middle of the night. That's really the only advice I have. Though I must say, I love that now I don't have to worry about her bathroom habits at all!
No advice, just letting you know that Max and Maya aren't night time potty-trained. It has taken us a year to toilet train them and they still will occasionally have accidents. Traveling the past two weeks has been especially hard.
Maya will occasionally wake up dry and they both are always dry over nap time. When they do well we praise. When they wake up wet we don't mention it.
Trenton was a tiny bit wet only about half the nights, so I decided to try having him sleep "bare buns!" I put a towel under his fitted sheet (protect the mattress) and let him sleep with bare buns, as we called it, because I feel like it's easier for him to recognize that he can't go potty when there is nothing on. :) It's been about a week - no accidents yet - so I'm hoping this is working for us! Good luck!
